Michael McClintock plays all around the world, but is now based in Ireland, and plays an unusual high energy mix of rock, afro-cuban, celtic and bluegrass - anything to get 'em up and dancing.
He started playing music at the age of 4 in the Australian outback, learning violin from his next-door-neighbour. He soon moved on to learn several other musical instruments, from piano and drums, to trumpet and double bass. His music has seen him tour throughout the world (although it is still his goal to play a concert in Antarctica), and he has played dozens of international music festivals and worked alongside numerous great internationally renowned musicians and bands, including Yo-yo Ma, Redgum, Midnight Oil, Eric Bogel, The Cat Empire, Pete Hawkes and Lee Kernaghan.
Michael joined the Australian Army aged 18 as an Infantry officer, before completing his studies at Melbourne University, where he studdied a degree in Corporations Law, Economics, Japanese and Politics. After his studies, Michael returned to his first love of music. His life is now devoted to music, in every form, but he especially loves Celtic, Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz and Traditional Jazz. |
